Fifteen enthusiastic Year 10 Health and Social Care students from Gordano School recently took part in an immersive careers experience day at the University of the West of England, designed to offer a hands-on introduction to a variety of roles within the healthcare sector.
An impressive group of 82 students from Years 7 and 8 at Gordano School recently took part in the UK Mathematics Trust’s Junior Maths Challenge (JMC) — a national competition designed to test students’ mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and logical thinking through a series of 25 multiple-choice questions.
In a proactive move to enhance student wellbeing and reduce classroom distractions, Gordano School has introduced a new phone-free policy for students in Years 7 to 11. The initiative, which uses secure magnetic-lock pouches from Yondr, aims to limit the negative impact of mobile phones and social media on young people’s cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Gordano School’s ‘Secret Garden’ has been given a new lease of life thanks to the generosity and hard work of nearly 40 volunteers from Enjoy Church, who dedicated their bank holiday weekend to revitalising the outdoor learning space.

For children aged 5 to 11 years, holiday club days run from 09:00-15:30 with extended hours available if you need them. There are fun activities running including Forest Adventure, Creative Workshops, Cricket Fundays, Gymnastics with Cheerleading, Mega Mashup, Football Fundays and more!

A truly special event took place at Buckingham Palace recently, where students from across the country were celebrated for their remarkable achievement in completing the Duke of Edinburgh's (DofE) Gold Award. Among the honourees were three outstanding young people from Gordano School.
