“Students in all year groups are given scope to seek positions of responsibility and act as leaders. Noticeable aspects of this are the opportunity for senior Sixth Form students to sit on the governing body and for students in all years to participate in student leadership teams.” Ofsted
Being a Sixth Former is about much more than just exam results. Sixth Form years are the most important time for developing wider skills to take with you into your adult life. We therefore make it a priority to give you a host of opportunities that will enable you to develop these key ‘life skills’.
As part of your Sixth Form curriculum we expect you to be involved in at least one additional option from our unique and hugely diverse Electives Programme – you could choose anything from Art & Design to Core Maths or Peer Mentoring.
Sixth Form students also widen their enjoyment and experiences by involvement in many other activities. Sixth Form organise their own sports day each July. Our Sixth Formers also play a vital role in the musical life of the school, from school musicals and orchestras to a gentlemen’s barbershop group. There are also regular Sixth Form gigs in our main hall. We place great importance on providing a range of other challenges for students – debating, visiting speakers, trips, both local and further afield – and we encourage students to initiate many other opportunities themselves.
