PSHE
Our Post 16 PSHE curriculum is modelled on the statutory guidance for all schools. We have tried to consider the different elements needed to allow our young people to leave our Sixth form ready for adult life and independent living. We have tried to ensure a balance between managing their current lives and laying the foundations for managing future experiences. This means that we focus on topics with real life relevance at this crucial transition point in their lives.
We have tried to ensure that we build on the lower school PSHE programme; our categories for the different sessions connect to the work they have already done but we also introduce them to the wider skills, strategies and attributes they will need post 18.
The content we cover is primarily through our Friday extended tutor lesson but also through assemblies (both whole Sixth Form and Year group) and our single fortnightly careers lesson that runs over a calendar year from January of Year 12 to December of Year 13.
