Equipment

All students will need a strong, waterproof bag in which to carry their property. Items they must bring are a minimum of two pens (blue/black ink,) ruler, pencils, eraser, protractor and a pair of compasses. Desirable items include highlighters, glue stick and pencil sharpener – please note that Tippex is not permitted in school.

Your child will also need a scientific calculator with a ‘natural display’. This means that the numbers look like handwritten numbers when they’re on the screen, rather than the numbers on a digital clock. The calculator strongly recommended by the Maths Faculty is the CASIO FX-83GT CW, although any of the calculators on the link below would be acceptable:

Please take care to purchase your child’s calculator from a reputable retailer as a swathe of replicas have been seen recently and they do not work properly. Moreover, we recommend that you put a sticky label with your child’s name and tutor group on the calculator (not the lid) just in case they lose it.
