OTR Brings Mental Health Pop-Up to Gordano School for Mental Health Awareness Week

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, OTR (Off the Record) North Somerset delivered an engaging and interactive Pop-Up at Gordano School, complementing the week’s assemblies and tutor time activities focused on student wellbeing.

OTR is a mental health social movement designed by and for young people aged 11–25 across North Somerset. The organisation provides free, accessible, and empowering mental health support and information, helping young people take charge of their wellbeing.

At the Gordano School Pop-Up, students were invited to take part in a thought-provoking whiteboard question and browse OTR’s popular merchandise table. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many students keen to share their thoughts and learn more about how to access support.

“We loved seeing how willing the young people were to get involved,” said Lorna Moss, Student Support for SEMH & ELSA at Gordano School. “Moments like these show how valuable open conversations about mental health can be — especially when led by young people themselves.”

This visit is part of OTR’s ongoing work in schools and communities across the region, helping to break down stigma and make mental health support approachable, relatable, and free for all young people.
