Gordano School Unveils State-of-the-Art Food Preparation and Nutrition Room, Expanding Opportunities for GCSE Students
Gordano School is proud to announce the opening of its brand-new Food Preparation and Nutrition room, a modern and inclusive space designed to inspire the next generation of culinary talent. This exciting development marks a significant step forward in the school’s commitment to providing high-quality, hands-on learning experiences for all students.
Located on the ground floor, the new facility offers improved accessibility for students with mobility needs, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to explore and excel in the subject. The room is equipped with the spacious workstations and creates an environment that supports both creativity and practical skill-building. Students can pursue their passion for cooking, nutrition, and food science, and potentially open doors to careers in hospitality, catering, and health-related industries.
Food practical sessions have been taking place over the last few weeks in the new facility.
I love how big and modern the new room is. It feels like a real kitchen you'd see on TV! It’s made me even more excited to take Food for GCSE.

We are very lucky to have a brand new Food room which increases our capacity for fantastic food lessons. The layout has been based on our existing rooms but this one is even more spacious for our students to work in. Food Preparation and Nutrition is a very popular choice at both GCSE and A Level, and this space will increase our capacity in these specialist facilities. It is also brilliant that it is on the ground floor as we can now welcome those who were not able to join us before. We are looking forward to making the most of all the opportunities this room gives us!
