Gordano70 is a special year-long celebration marking 70 years of Gordano School in academic year 2026-27, honouring our past while inspiring our future.  It's about celebrating 70 years of stories, achievements and community spirit, while creating new memories together.

Throughout the year, students, staff, alumni and the wider community will come together to celebrate everything that makes Gordano special through exciting events, creative projects and fundraising activities.

Logo Competition 

We kicked off the celebrations with a logo competition during the 2026 summer term by inviting our students, along with children in the community, to design a special logo to mark the occasion.

The competition captured the imagination of children and young people from across our community, with over 200 entries submitted by talented designers ranging from 4-year-old pre-school children and pupils in primary schools through to students in all our year groups at Gordano School. The​ winning design by Gordano student Dominic Woolford is the official Gordano 70 logo.

Every suitable entry will become part of a spectacular collaborative artwork, a large outdoor Griffin installation on the Gordano School site. Each individual design will be transformed into a unique scale on the Griffin, creating a lasting piece of artwork that celebrates the creativity of our community. 

Creating this opportunity ensures that many more young artists who took part will leave their mark on Gordano School's history and be able to see their entry every day, whether now or in the future.
