Year 11 Students Experience Mock GCSE Results Day and Celebrate Core Values of Aspiration, Effort and Community

Our Year 11 students recently took part in an inspiring mock GCSE Results Day by collecting their mock results envelopes from the Main Hall.
Designed to mirror the excitement of the real GCSE Results Day this summer, the event offered students a valuable chance to familiarise themselves with the emotions and processes of results day in a supportive, uplifting setting. Staff, tutors and senior leaders were on hand to offer encouragement, celebrate success and help students reflect on their progress so far.
The atmosphere was filled with positivity, encouragement and a strong sense of determination, reflecting Gordano’s commitment to nurturing confident, resilient and community‑minded young people.
Mark Tipler, Assistant Headteacher and Director of Key Stage 4 commented:
“This experience gives our students a real taste of what results day feels like, helping to build confidence and emotional readiness ahead of the summer exams. It also connects beautifully with our core values — encouraging students to dream big in their ambitions, do their best in everything they do, and to recognise the importance of giving back by supporting one another through this journey.”
The mock results day is part of Gordano’s holistic approach to education, where academic preparation goes hand in hand with pastoral support and character development. This approach ensures students are not only equipped with the skills to succeed in exams but are also supported emotionally and practically, fostering belief in themselves and their ability to achieve.
Students left the event feeling motivated and encouraged, with many expressing that the experience helped them focus their goals for the final months of the academic year. In this way, Gordano School continues to promote a culture that celebrates effort, builds resilience and inspires every learner to aim high and contribute positively to their school community and beyond.
