Year 13 Students Celebrate in Style at Gordano Sixth Form Leavers’ Day

Year 13 students at Gordano School marked the end of their Sixth Form journey in memorable fashion as they came together for a joyful Leavers’ Day celebration filled with laughter, creativity and reflection.

Year 13 students at Gordano School marked the end of their Sixth Form journey in memorable fashion as they came together for a joyful Leavers’ Day celebration filled with laughter, creativity and reflection.

The day began in the Sixth Form Common Room, where students enjoyed a breakfast buffet kindly provided by Aspens. It was a relaxed and cheerful start to the celebrations, giving students the chance to spend time together and reflect on their final weeks at school.

Adding plenty of fun to the morning was the fancy dress theme of Famous Characters, with students embracing the occasion in brilliantly imaginative style. Costumes included Disney Princesses, Night at the Museum characters, Minions, Scrooge, Super Mario and friends, The Inbetweeners, fairies, lifeguards, Pink Ladies and the Top Gear team. The variety, humour and effort on display created a fantastic atmosphere and ensured the day began with smiles all round.

Students also took part in a range of activities including human bingo and karaoke, which brought plenty of energy, laughter and friendly competition to the celebrations. Throughout the morning, students enjoyed the opportunity to relax together and make more special memories with friends before moving on to their next steps.

Jason Boulton, Co-Director of Sixth Form, said: “Leavers’ Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything this year group has achieved during their time at Gordano. They have shown resilience, character and ambition throughout their Sixth Form journey, and it has been fantastic to see them come together to enjoy one final celebration before the next stage of their lives.”

The celebrations then continued in the Sixth Form Hall, where students were joined by staff for a series of presentations and awards led by teachers and the Student Leadership Team. The event provided an opportunity to recognise individual achievements, celebrate contributions to Sixth Form life and reflect on the many successes of this year group during their time at Gordano.

Leavers’ Day was a fitting send-off for a year group who have made a positive impact across the school community. Gordano School would like to thank all Year 13 students for the enthusiasm, character and commitment they have shown throughout their time in the Sixth Form.

We wish every student the very best in their upcoming examinations and every success as they move on to the exciting opportunities ahead.
