Year 12 Students Visit Oxford University on Inspirational Oxbridge Trip

A group of ambitious Year 12 Gordano School students recently participated in an enriching visit to the University of Oxford. The trip, designed for students considering applications to Oxford or Cambridge, offered a first-hand insight into life at one of the world’s leading universities.

The day included a tour of one of Oxford’s prestigious colleges, engaging academic workshops, and discussions with current students and admissions staff. Students gained valuable information on the application process, including advice on personal statements, interview techniques, and subject-specific expectations.

"This trip has been incredibly eye-opening," said one of the participating students. "It’s given me a real sense of what studying at Oxford would be like, and I feel much more confident about applying."

Staff at Gordano were equally enthusiastic:

“We’re committed to supporting all students in reaching their full potential,” said Pip Ramsay, Head of Year 13 and Director of Sixth Form. “Trips like this are vital in demystifying the Oxbridge application process and inspiring students to aim high.”

The visit reflects Gordano’s ongoing dedication to academic excellence and providing opportunities that broaden horizons and raise aspirations.
