Gordano Sixth Form Raises Over £1,350 During RAG Week for Local Charities

Gordano Sixth Form students have shown incredible generosity and community spirit during their annual RAG Week (Raising and Giving), raising over £1,350 for two vital local charities: Be More Ben and Caring in Bristol.
The week was packed with festive fun and friendly competition. Students hosted a lively Christmas RAG Fayre, where Lower School pupils enjoyed a lunchtime of games and challenges, delicious cake stalls, hot dogs, and face-painting.
Tokens were used as currency, purchased in advance via ParentPay or on the day, making the event accessible and enjoyable for all.
Adding to the excitement, Sixth Form students faced off against staff in a series of sports matches, including Dodgeball. These matches drew big crowds and plenty of laughs, with participants donating to take part in the fun.

Alongside these events, the Sixth Form community organised a donation drive to support Caring in Bristol’s Caring at Christmas programme. Essential items were collected across the school and delivered to the charity, helping provide vital support to people experiencing homelessness during the festive season.
All proceeds will go to Be More Ben, which provides ongoing support to families following the loss of a child, and Caring in Bristol, which delivers the South West’s largest homeless project during Christmas.
Sixth Form students shared their thoughts on the week:
“It was amazing to see everyone come together for such important causes. The atmosphere at the Christmas Fayre was brilliant!”
“Playing against the teachers in Dodgeball was so much fun, and knowing it was for charity made it even better.”Co-Director of Sixth Form, Pip Ramsay, added:
“RAG Week is a highlight of our year, and this fantastic total reflects the generosity and creativity of our students. We are proud to support charities that make a real difference locally.”
