A total of 360 students took part in work experience this year, with placements taking place across the country, including opportunities in Wales, London, Devon, Derbyshire and Macclesfield, as well as many placements closer to home. The annual programme provides students with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a wide range of industries, helping them develop valuable workplace skills while exploring potential future careers.

At R J Crane and Son, one student made an excellent impression by arriving early each morning, working long days alongside the team and embracing every task with enthusiasm. The employer praised the student's positive attitude, willingness to help wherever needed and eagerness to learn new skills throughout the week.

Construction company Molson also shared glowing feedback, describing their placement student as "a pleasure to work with and a real credit to Gordano School", praising their enthusiasm, professionalism and consistently positive attitude.

Estate agents Goodman and Lilley spoke highly of their student, describing them as "an absolutely outstanding young person and an absolute credit to themselves, their family and to the school." They commended the student's maturity, engagement, attentiveness and determination, adding that it had been "a privilege to hopefully play a small part in their development."

Meanwhile, the Entertainment Team at Beverley Holiday Parks praised their work experience student for being "a star" throughout the week. The employer was delighted that the student had enjoyed their placement and commented that they have "so much potential in the industry in the future."

"We are incredibly proud of how our Year 10 students represented themselves and the school during Work Experience Week. The positive feedback we have received reflects their hard work, maturity and enthusiasm, as well as the support of the many employers who generously gave their time to mentor our students. These experiences play an important role in helping young people build confidence and prepare for their future careers."

Gordano School would like to thank all the businesses and organisations that supported this year's Work Experience Week and provided students with such valuable opportunities to learn, contribute and develop essential workplace skills. While there are far too many employers to name individually, the school would like to extend particular thanks to Hughes Carpentry, Edwards Vacuums, Viper Innovation, Avon Fire and Rescue, Aviva, Baker Hughes, Osprey, Weston College, and all the local primary schools for their continued support and commitment to helping students gain meaningful workplace experiences.
