π End of Term Rugby Round-Up! π₯

It’s been a thrilling term of rugby across the year groups, with plenty of grit, determination, and standout performances!
Year 8 took on St Katherine’s in a friendly match just before half term. Despite being a player down (12 vs 13), the boys showed incredible resilience and came out on top with a 6 tries to 5 win! A brilliant display of character and teamwork.
Year 11 played an outstanding game against Churchill School, ending in a hard-fought 21–21 draw. Although Churchill progress as the away team, our boys gave everything right to the final whistle, pushing for points with minimal substitutions. A fantastic match to watch and a true testament to their team spirit.

Year 9 travelled to Pyrland – dubbed “the land of the giants”! Despite facing a physically imposing side, they opened the scoring and battled hard throughout. Trailing 17–10 at half time, they used the wind advantage in the second half to dominate territory and eventually level the score at 22–22. A last-minute defensive stand secured the draw, meaning Gordano go through as the away team. Huge credit to Fred Gent for his tactical kicking and to the whole team for their relentless pressure.

π Well done to all our rugby teams for an incredible Term 1 – full of heart, hustle, and highlights!
