Young Bakers Rise to the Challenge in Gordano’s Interhouse Bake Off

The very first Gordano Bake Off has been completed, bringing together talented student bakers from Years 7, 8 and 9 for an exciting Interhouse competition.

Twelve students took part, where they were challenged to create and decorate a batch of Viennese Fingers in just 1 hour and 10 minutes. The competition was expertly presented by House Captains Ollie, Lucas and Clodagh, with a video of the event coming soon.

The standard of baking was incredibly high, making the judging process a difficult one. Our judges, Ms Thomson, Miss Dawson and Shannah Hatch from Pullin’s Bakery, were thoroughly impressed by the skill, creativity and enthusiasm displayed by all of the competitors.

A huge congratulations goes to all twelve students, who demonstrated fantastic baking skills and represented their houses with pride.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Pullin’s Bakery for their generosity in providing prizes for the top three competitors. Miss Pope said “Just WOW! We were blown away by your generosity in the prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place today! It meant so much to the students. They absolutely loved them!”

Shannah Hatch, Senior NPD Technologist at Pullin’s Bakery and one of the event judges, praised the students’ efforts:

“Thank you for having me yesterday! It was so lovely to see how much all the students enjoyed it and I hope everyone took something away from the event. It was really nice to see how passionate the students were about their bakes, and some of them have made some amazing cakes in their free time. I wish my school had organised a Bake Off at some point!”
