Graduation Party: Celebrating Our Nurture Hub

Today, we were delighted to celebrate the graduation of our Year 7 Nurture Hub students, marking the completion of their learning journey focused on communication, friendship and understanding emotions.
Over their time in the programme, students have developed valuable skills that will support them both in and beyond the classroom. They are now ready to access their full timetables with increased confidence and have learned strategies to help them be respectfully assertive and advocate for themselves when they need support.
The graduation celebration was a special occasion, providing an opportunity to reflect on the progress that has been made. There were a few tears this morning as they looked back on their time together – a testament to the strong bonds that have developed between students and staff. They have shared many happy memories, enjoyed lots of fun experiences and built relationships that will continue long after the programme has ended.
As part of the celebration, students spoke about what they were most grateful for from their time in Nurture. It was wonderful to hear their reflections and to see how clearly they recognised their own growth, achievements and increasing confidence.
One student said “I’ve learnt how to make friends and how to talk about my feelings”, whilst another was heard saying “I used to be nervous about lessons, but now I feel ready to try new things.”
The aim of the programme has always been to equip students with the skills and resilience needed to enjoy their lessons, build positive relationships and know how to ask for help when they need it. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and are excited to hear about their future successes as they continue their journey through school.
Ms Austen reflected:
“The relationships we have built with our students have been very special. Seeing them develop the confidence to express their feelings, advocate for themselves and support one another has been a real highlight. We will miss spending time with them each day, but we are excited to see them continue to flourish.”
Congratulations to all of our Nurture graduates – we wish you every success for the future! 🎓
