Senior Dance Company Shine at Spring Forward Dance Festival
A huge congratulations to our Senior Dance Company, who delivered an outstanding performance at the Spring Forward Dance Festival at the McMillan Theatre in Bridgwater.
The students demonstrated exceptional commitment and professionalism. Travelling to Bridgwater straight after school, they represented the school superbly on a professional stage and should be extremely proud of their achievement.
Head of Dance Miss Holt said:
“Despite it being the last day of term, with everyone understandably ready for a well‑earned break, the dancers delivered two fantastic performances and represented the school superbly. I am so proud of every one of you.
Also huge thanks to Ms McKenzie for driving the minibus and supporting the group on the night!”
The company, made up of students ranging from Year 10 to Year 13, performed two high‑quality dances, impressing both the audience and organisers alike. One of the pieces was even selected to close the show, a fantastic honour that reflects the strength and impact of their performance.
Spring Forward is a prestigious annual dance festival, now in its 20th year, organised by Take Art. It is one of the most exciting and inclusive events in the Somerset dance calendar, bringing together hundreds of dancers of all ages and abilities from across Somerset and the South West. Spring Forward supports youth dance companies, school and college groups, and independent young dancers, making it an invaluable experience for performers looking to develop their skills and confidence on a professional stage.
If you missed the performance, there’s no need to worry; the Senior Dance Company will be performing both dances again at the Dance Showcase this week. Tickets are available, so be sure to grab yours here and come along to support these talented students.
