Sixth Form students represent Gordano School at the Bristol Teams Maths Competition

Two teams of talented mathematicians recently represented Gordano School in the Spring leg of the Bristol Sixth Forms Team Math Competition. The competition was hosted at Bristol Grammar School and involved 42 teams competing at a variety of mathematical challenges. This was the school's second time participating in the prestigious event, following a successful debut last Autumn.
Our teams were hoping to build on their previous successes, battling it out against the region's keenest mathematicians. Our Further Maths team excelled throughout and placed a fantastic 3rd out of 28 teams. This triumph was supported by a stunning performance from Daniel C, who scored full marks on the pairs round - despite not having a partner! Our second team of Single Maths students also built on their success from the Autumn leg, with another strong mid-table finish.
Maths Excellence Coordinator Miss Goodwin joined the teams at the event, and was thoroughly impressed by their enthusiasm, mathematical dexterity, and teamwork.
The students were outstanding ambassadors for Gordano School, and we are very proud of their achievements.
We look forward to future editions of the competition next academic year, where we will welcome back our current Year 12s to lead our teams.
