Outstanding Success at the Light House Partnership InterSchool Vocabulary Competition

A team of five fantastic students from Years 7–10 proudly represented Gordano School at this year’s Light House Partnership Inter‑School Vocabulary Competition, going head‑to‑head with teams from Backwell, Churchill Academy and Sixth Form and Chew Valley schools.

The competition brought together some of the most enthusiastic and talented word‑lovers from across the trust, challenging students with advanced vocabulary tasks, quick‑fire rounds, and problem‑solving activities that tested both knowledge and confidence.

Our Gordano team put in an exceptional effort throughout the event, demonstrating teamwork, determination and impressive linguistic skill. Their hard work truly paid off — Gordano secured first and second place!

Huge congratulations to all who took part:

  • Tom M Year 10
  • Adam P Year10
  • Megan D Year10
  • Aoife B Year 7
  • Kuzey H Year 9
