Exploring Future Opportunities: Year 11 Visit to City of Bristol College
As part of our ongoing support for students who receive lessons in the Learning Hub, we recently organised an exciting trip to City of Bristol College. The visit gave our Year 11 students a valuable opportunity to explore post-16 options and experience what college life has to offer.
The day included tours of two campuses: College Green, located in the heart of Bristol, and the impressive AEC Parkway Centre, home to advanced vocational facilities. Best of all, the trip was completely free for students.
During the visit, students were introduced to a range of vocational courses available at the college. Particular interest was sparked by areas such as Hair and Beauty, Forensics, and the Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance programme. These hands-on courses provided a glimpse into practical career pathways that many students found inspiring.
The experience was designed to help students make informed decisions about their next steps after GCSEs. Exploring real-world learning environments and seeing specialist facilities first-hand gave students confidence and motivation as they prepare for their future.
