Football Highlights

Year 10 & 11 Girls’ football team launched their ESFA National Cup campaign in spectacular fashion with a 5–0 victory over Chipping Sodbury School. Rom was named Player of the Match, a powerhouse in both attack and defence!

In their first ever National Cup fixture, the Year 7 girls travelled to Downend and returned with a 4–0 win! All four goals were scored by Charlotte L, while Lauren earned Player of the Match for her outstanding goalkeeping to keep a clean sheet.

Congratulations to our Year 8 and 9 girls who played their first 11-a-side match together — and what a debut! They defeated St Katherine's 8–0, with a brilliant hat-trick from Florrie leading the charge.

The Year 9 boys football team also impressed, beating Mangotsfield School 6–0 in Round 1 of the National Cup. They’ll face Backwell School at home in the next round — good luck, team!

Rugby Success

Our Year 9 rugby squad showed grit and skill in friendly fixtures, securing wins against both St Katherine's and Clevedon School.

A huge congratulations to the Year 10 rugby team who triumphed in their Somerset Rugby Cup match away at The Blue School, Wells, with a commanding 45–17 win. Player of the Match was shared between Will C (2 tries) and James “The Flash” P (3 tries). The team continued their winning streak with a 45–19 victory over St Katherine's in a friendly fixture.

Netball Development

Year 7 & 8 Girls had their first taste of competitive play in friendly fixtures against Clevedon School. These matches were designed to support development and ensure every girl attending netball club had the chance to participate. The commitment, effort, and resilience shown by all players were truly inspiring.

Well done to all our teams! Your hard work, sportsmanship, and school spirit are a credit to our community. We look forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings!
