Music News - Rotary Young Musician Competition win for Lucas Faram

Huge congratulations to Lucas Faram who was placed Second in the Rotary Young Musician Competition that took place at Redmaids School on Friday 21st January. Lucas played 'Marimba Dances', a ten-minute plus piece on the Marimba, with three movements entirely from memory, impressing the judges enough to win him Second place in the competition. 

Lucas received a trophy and £200 prize money. The other winners (1st and 3rd) were both from Wells Cathedral School.

The momentous musical achievements don't stop there for Lucas and his siblings; Lucas and Sam have recently been awarded places as percussionists in the National Youth Brass Band of Wales for 2022, Lucas has also been awarded a place in the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain. Their older sister Anna, a Gordano Alumni and 2021 leaver, has also been awarded a place in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain as a violinist.

Well done to Lucas, Sam and Anna, these are all fantastic achievements.
