Year 11 Futures Interviews – 7 February 2017 2.00-7.30pm

The next important date in our diary is Futures Day on Tuesday 7th February for all Year 11 students.

The purpose of a Futures Interview is to look at current progress and to discuss future plans post-Year 11, be they Sixth Form, applications to other colleges or apprenticeships. Our expectation is that every Year 11 student attends as appointments offer a sounding board to discuss future choices and pathways with a senior member of the Gordano staff.

For those students who have applied to study here next year, we will have feedback from subject staff on the suitability of students for Sixth Form courses for which they have applied. We will also advise on the suitability of subject combinations for possible future career routes.

Our expectation is that parents and carers of students on Level 2 and 3 of the Year 11 Achievement System do join us for these appointments, which will also enable you to discuss your son/ daughter’s progress on the system. We also invite parents of Level 1 students to attend appointments to access the information and guidance needed to make the transition to the next stage of educational life. Even if not attending, we ask parents to make the booking for their son / daughter.

The online booking system is now available and accessible from all modern devices. The link to the booking system, with clear instructions on how to use it is available on the school website:

In addition to appointment slots, Mrs Fairs as Head of Sixth Form, and Mrs Crosby our Careers Adviser, will be available to speak to you.

Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s tutor or myself if you require further information.
