Students prepare for Annual Trip to Kenya Summer 2017

Paul Wilson and Jeanne Fairs will be accompanying 18 students on the school’s annual trip to Kenya.  Over the past 4 years the Gordano community has supported the trip through their knitting, donations and support at a variety of school events.

Jeanne Fairs commented,

"This year we are thrilled that while Sixth Formers will be  in Kenya, Gordano Year 7 students will be completing a Charity Walk with all donations going to our twinned schools in Bochoroke. On average a student in Bochoroke has to walk at least 4 miles to school each day, and only the older students will be provided with lunch.”

We’d like to invite any members of the public who have helped in some way with the project to date. Gordano School Sixth Form will be hosting a Mend the Gap Celebration Evening on November 20th. This invite is a small thank you for all the brilliant ongoing public support – particularly to all of the fantastic knitting donations that have been sent in. The event will take place in the Main Hall at Gordano School, and we’ll be showing lots of footage, memories and photos from the 2017 group trip.
