Whilst teaching staff and students enjoyed the long summer break, the site team and ICT technicians were working extremely hard making improvements to the school and surrounding areas. The new English block which was handed over by Wilmott Dixon in July, is now ready for use. The building includes a media suite with Apple Macs and an ICT room. The new facilities also include a 3 classroom size room which can be opened out into one or partitioned as required.
Portland House along with Social Sciences have now occupied the newly re-furbished (old) English block., whilst the space previously occupied by Portland has been made into two additional and much needed science rooms and the science block has been re-decorated.In all new and re-furbished areas of the school, toilets are unisex and open plan style solving many of the problems traditionally styled toilets suffered.
The main “In/Out” doors have been re-fitted with double glazed doors and windows and UPVC double glazed windows have also been fitted in the Humanities block.
The Community Trust Sports Centre continues to see improvements and a new astro pitch has been fitted for school and community use as well as a 3G covering in one of the quad areas.
Maintenance to the school bridge on Clevedon Road along with new signage throughout the school all serve to make the school site easier to navigate both for visitors and members of the school community.
