Hairspray hailed a ‘fantastic’ success!
Friday (3rd March 2017) saw the final night of the four night run of Gordano School’s 2017 production of Hairspray.
The play has seen packed audiences, and a massively positive response for the musical, which has seen over 100 students involved as part of the team on and off-stage. The cast and crew from Years 7 to 13 work extremely hard since September to ensure that the final performances were polished and perfect.
Show Producer, Stefan Chilcott, hailed the show as a big success:
“The school has had a long tradition of producing professional performances, but with Hairspray, we have really raised the bar in terms of the quality of the whole performance from set, to band, to the singers, dancers and actors.
“The quality of the final performances and the strength of positive comments towards the show reflect the time invested by staff and students over several months. I am so proud of everyone involved and it has been a real privilege to have shared the journey with staff and students.”
Eager to build on the success of this year’s performance, the Creative Arts team are already looking into how they follow Hairspray with next year’s performance!
