As ever, this time of year is incredibly busy, especially in Creative Arts. After a beautiful Carol Service in St. Nicholas’ Church this week sees our two performances of the Christmas Concert. I gather last night’s performance was brilliant, and look forward to seeing the second performance this evening. As ever, we are in huge debt to Mr Guerrini and Mr Davies for masterminding another incredible festive season of music.

This rounds off two incredibly busy terms both in and outside the classroom. We spent some time this morning reflecting, as staff, on just how many opportunities our young people have and make the most of. It’s true testament to the heroic commitment of staff and to the engagement and energy of our young people that makes this so successful.

We’re really excited about 2018. Our new Canteen and Languages block is due to be completed in the Spring, and will be fully operational from September. This will allow us to increase our intake by one tutor group from next September to cater for the increase in pupil numbers in our primary schools.

It is a tremendous privilege working at Gordano and serving the community of Portishead & Portbury. I am certainly ready for a rest and I would like to take this opportunity of wishing all our families and friends a restful, peaceful, merry and very enjoyable Christmas holiday. Thank you, as always, for your support and encouragement in the past term.
