After 5 months of hard work, GCSE Art students are nearing completion of two large scale art works for the waiting areas of Portishead Medical Centre.
Students embraced weekly workshops to enrich their knowledge of composition, colour, texture and media. They explored mono printing, collagraphy and chine-collé printing techniques to creatively represent places of interest in and around Portishead using their own photographs. With these methods and inspiration from several mixed media artists, the group worked together to produce two large mixed media pieces to be displayed in the reception area and corridors.
This has been a fantastic opportunity for our students to strengthen their GCSE portfolios and to gain valuable experience of responding to real life design brief for the community.
